Woozle: I heard the other day that the female hyena pseudopenis rolls up like a sock (becoming a short, hollow cylinder) during sex. I'm not sure how accurate that is, though.

The last time Norway boasted hyenas... mighta been about never. Glaciers. Cave- and Giant Hyenas in the Pleistocene, but they hung out more southerly... Cave hyenas turned out (DNA analysis) to be the same species as spotted hyenas today. Though bigger. Hyenas once ranged as far north as France and Germany in the Pleistocene.
