Lapp: @PinkBallons: Speaking from the perspective of an overly timid person (I also like how I'm treating it like a disability and that I'm somehow qualified to speak for others), I make a conscious effort to avoid saying things like "if you don't mind", i.e. I backspace over something of the like on like 2/3 of my comments. I do this because I know a lot of people did it obnoxious or otherwise annoying; Fluttershy, however, in no way seems to struggle with timidity: she's just started to flaunt it to give herself an elevated place in society, while Equestrians by nature are too kind and accomodating to saying anything about it. That, or she's subconsciously attention starved and found a way to play reverse psychology. :s
PinkBallons: @Lapp: I see it as her constantly trying to overcome her shyness and be more assertive, but ends up falling short. The idea that she is doing it on purpose simply isn't a possibility for me.
