According to that, Ruto is supposed to be quite energetic, having those Folds on her Arms and Legs, increasing her Surface dramatically(therefore she doesn't need to be so copulent like the Salamander in the Wiki).
Also I've seen a show with those Salamanders lately(The Moderator actually licked their Skin a bit, for Poison-Testing, yack), where I've found out, that those Salamanders do not need their Lungs for breathing, instead, they use them for buoyancy.
I believe, for the Zoras, tat they use their Lungs for 2 Purposes mainly:
1. Communication
2. shore leave breathing
