Roflcakes: Ponies doing drugs is so bizarre. My brain cannot comprehend the reasoning behind it... Do people who love weed want to see everything else they like smoking weed too?
Lapp: @Roflcakes: More or less. But I don't mind, potheads are the single nicest people ever. I like imagining the Princesses on weed. Drugs normally don't do anything for me, but a joint with a girl is a fun and funny time for both. :)

Lapp: @PinkBallons: Haha, personally I hate people that think marijuana "opens your eyes to something you'd never otherwise see". Psychonautics is nonsense, but it calms you down and give you a warm, fuzzy feeling. Something not everyone can manage by his or her own ability all the time.
I know people that smoke it regularly (I don't, maybe on a twice-yearly occasion at most) and hold down a fully productive life. I also know people that have lost any trace of a dream to their next fix. And what cartels have done to Latin America is unforgivable. Anyone that disagrees, check out Juarez in Mexico.
But the drug itself if better than some other "psychonautic" drugs, I must admit. MDMA, ketamine and the like will wreck any good person, with proven effects including severe brain damage and damage to the nervous system. No easy wu around the drug problem. :(

I'm not completely against drugs, they have their place (like marijuana, in the case of medical marijuana); it just seriously annoys me when people say things like "you see the world in a completely new way, it opens your mind to new ideas," when in reality all that drugs do is distort your ability to perceive the world. Yes, they allow you to see the world from a corrupted viewpoint, but they damage your body and mind in the process (granted, only with repeated use, and often not permanently), and personally I don't get why they would be used as anything besides an escape.

My favorite's switching out whatever the hell their drinking roulette-style when their not looking. One night I did it six times to three people. Coke to Pepsi to Dr Pepper to Mountain Dew to Gatorade to Milk.

But it's a cultural thing. I've been having red wine with dinner since I was like 12, and my father worked in a wine shop, so I'm generally only pressed to drink as a social thing, plus the taste's grown on me. I'll admit to having kept a bottle of Gray-Goose vodka, but it's not with me anymore, or better or worse.
I don't know if lowering the drinking age in America to 18 would work, though. It's not integrated culturally enough. While I've been so surrounded by it so long that I've no interest in binging my liver out, I don't know if most children in America experience that same exposure. Sorry for the off-topicness, haha.
PinkBallons: @Lapp: Personally I find it a bit silly that the age is 21, considering what a high percentage of people end up drinking far before that age, anyway, and that it doesn't match up with the other age requirements at all.

But, in a more serious tone, I can see what you mean. Simultaneously, might I respectfully consider myself correct? In the way that turning down a drink would shed light on something you don't openly present, again in the most respectful way.
PinkBallons: @Lapp: Yeah, choosing not to drink outright is certainly not the social norm, so it does raise suspicions, like, every time. But our reasoning for it is perfectly sound, no? You have many of the same issues we do; you simply choose to handle them in a different way.
