Anonymous6: The darker parts of her skin are based on the clothing she's wearing when she gets back to human form. So, since Midna's imp form is magical in origin, and she has some degree of magical ability herself, it makes sense that she could manipulate the patterns on her skin; ie, her "clothes." I mean, she's clearly not grabbing hold of any cloth in that bottom frame.
