No not hence appearance and age fail. I never saw a sequel and I don't remember seeing any other deer in the movie besides his mom. Actually its been so long since I have seen the movie the only sceen I can recall is when they first meet Flower. And I will be 22 in less than a month and last I checked, that was definately "of age".
