Anonymous1: Remember people, virgin goddess does not mean bored goddess!

Anonymous2: Athena was hardly a virgin. You thinking of Artemis(and technically, that one's debateable, too)?

kyle724: Was she the one who punished Medusa for getting raped by Poseidon?

Anonymous4: @Kyle724: Close. She punished Medusa for having a tryst with Poseidon in one of her own temples.

Anonymous6: This style that Frederico has is extremely sexy to me - maybe it's just the subject matter, but more mythological and historical (or mythologically historiplausible) hotties for the win.

Anonymous7: Got a figure like an urn, that one.

Anonymous8: Yeah, she was fucking raped by Poseidon either way; that crap about a "tryst" is to make those Olympians more likeable.

Anonymous9: @Anonymous: It's actually a bit more ambiguous than that. Ovid's narrative in the Metamorphoses (which is where most of the modern variations of the story come from) doesn't make it clear whether Medusa was a willing participant in the encounter or whether she was raped by Poseidon. You could say it's _implied_ that Medusa was raped, since the verb used is _vitire_, meaning "violate" or "corrupt", but it can refer both to consensual and non consensual encounters. Point is, neither point of view is absolutely correct, and the notion of a tryst wasn't exactly pulled out of thin air in the modern era.
