Anonymous2: Has Goku ever said that he loves Chi-Chi once throughout the series? I honestly cannot remember. Again, that really speaks volumes about their characters and relationship. Not that the romance in Dragon Ball was ever really written well at all but still.
Anonymous3: @Anonymous: well if you go by toriyama's interviews he describes the relationship being more of a friendship then a romantic one. And if you ever watch the entirety of the OG Dragon Ball that Goku never once found any interest in her. he only agreed on the marriage because she won't stop bitching & nagging at him about it. And from toriyama's editor the original plan was to have him end up with Bulma. And what's funny about this is that anytime Goku is shown to have better interactions build up & chemistry with any woman in a shorts amount of time than his actual wife throughout the entire series. Plus Goku & Chichi really don't got nothing in common other than breathing air.
KOHMAXII-: @Anonymous: honestly I actually love the idea of Goku x 18 being a couple. Cuz you probably be one of the few women in the series that can train with him on his & she's shown to be a good cook,a good mother & a good wife too. And 18 will know that Goku will treat her with love & kindness unlike Vegeta who people ship him with her will just come off as an asshole. But hey who knows this ship is probably happening in a different timeline right now. since trunks made it a thing with him time traveling. The same could be said with him with Bulma, Caulifla or many more.

I won't go that far by calling him a bad husband & father since he did through his life protecting them mostly his son & losing his shit when hearing a villain killed his wife & child from a different timeline so yeah he does care. Anonymous8: @anonymous 8 I agree that the relationship would essentially be the same, except 18 would be able to train with him and would be incentivized to do so. Also, Goku isn’t a bad father/husband, he’s just really narrow minded and a bit of a bumpkin. He still cares a lot about his family.
