Anonymous4: @Anonymous: eh it was better than anything else Disney made for TV after Kim Possible ended. Granted the ending was lazy as hell and they dragged out the romance drama to the point where I stopped caring, but what do you expect from a female creator who forgets half of the hints and foreshadowing she put in just so she could give more screen time to a completely worthless character (cough Ponyhead).
Anonymous5(3): @Anonymous: I think I was most disappointed by the fact that they set up Star as a deeply flawed character but never bothered to actually address her flaws in a meaningful way. That combined with the awful romance between her and Marco led to a situation where she dragged him down with her and they both became awful people. I don't think she started out as a self insert for Daron Nefcy but that's certainly what she became. And the scene where Marco talks about wanting shrink down and live in her pocket and let her pull him out whenever she wants reveals more about Daron Nefcy's ideal romance than I ever wanted to know.
Anonymous6: @Anonymous: yeah I can see what you are saying but keep in mind cartoons today are more about just being entertainment and not trying to teach people something and fix their flaws and imo Star did fix more of her flaws then you think- even though they screwed up Moons character with her choices in the end- and frankly I wouldn’t call the Starco romance “bad”, that would be the Tomstar or Mellco romances as those were basically just superficial rebound relationships, Starco was closer to an actual teen drama then most other shows even get close to. Like I said, the real problem near the end was they dragged out the drama for no reason (ie Tom should have had that revelation he did right after season 3 ended, they should have realized their true feelings were there right after the Blood Moon Curse was broken, and they just got lazy with the “destroy magic” then dragging out the “will they be separated forever?” Thing in the finale faking us out 3 times during it.
Anonymous7(3): @Anonymous: I was not a fan of Star and Marco's relationship at all. Their friendship was one of the most endearing things about the show in the beginning. They both had dynamics that can play off of each other. Strengths and flaws that they could examine through each other. When the romance was introduced all that changed and their story became nothing more than the tired old will they won't they she was there the whole time Dime Store Romance. Their growth as characters we're completely stunted for the sake of this go nowhere element. And it was hard to say it was worth it when it all culminated in Star stubbornly refusing to deal with the final threat properly and opting instead to destroy all magic and kill countless magic creatures including my favorite character Hekapoo. For me the show became really good after the first four episodes and stayed that way until towards the end of season 2. After that it just kept getting gradually worse and worse. As much as I enjoyed those earlier episodes I kind of wish I never started watching the show in the first place knowing where it ended up.
