Swag_Wagon: @Dix_Licker_123: She still is an OC. Bowsette is a fan design of what they wanted Bowser to look like with the crown. Bowser never receives the crown in any capacity and was never meant to. Canonically, the crown doesn't seem to work on men, and the only one who can even use it is Toadette. Technically, there was a piece of official concept art of a female Bowser in the Odyssey artbook, but it was scrapped, the design is completely different from Bowsette, and the context is entirely different.

I have nothing against Bowsette, but saying Bowsette isn't an OC is objectively wrong.

Anonymous9: The thing is bowsette isn't a distinct character just bowser under the effect of a canon powerup. By your own logic, a form of bowser under the influence of an ice-flower would be an OC as well. Not to mention that Bowsette as well as the other -ette characters have become a bit of a meme with many artists doing art of a mostly set design, so even if she's a derivitave character it's hard to argue that she hasn't taken an existence of her own and could be seen as fan-art of that comic. Thirdly the site allows (or seems to anyway) cross-species and r63 of extant characters (i've seen semi-human eeveelutions, on par with nekogirls in terms of humanity, and male Rosalina, for example) so why wouldn't this semi-human, r63 version of bowser be allowable. Is it because she has a distinct name? I'm sure the no-OC rule is meant to prevent Tonic the Hedgehog, not Sonia the Hedgehog.
