On the Rankin-Bass movie, "Santa Claus is coming to town", Santa, as a wanted Criminal, couldn't get legally married, so, he and the potential missus actually had a common law arrangement! In effect, they were "married" to each other because THEY BOTH SAID SO! Which I kind of like, myself, as I do the fact that Santa is wanted by the authorities.
