However, its nothing when you think about some of the real shit that was done to people, throughout history, including cutting off limb and staking them to the gates/fences of towns with a sign explaining their transgressions. Usually, the "criminal" would survive this, for a while, at least, unless the king/headman was feeling merciful that day.
