Anonymous2: Considering that its just the client's preference, I'd like to think it's because he's not as interesting as Wolverine and always lower on the popularity poll compared to other X-men. I personally like him, but Hate for Cyclops can be considered a widespread meme because I guess it's more appealing to cuck him with having Jean cheat on him repeatedly. Not my cup of tea, but whatever. It doesn't help that Marvel itself has incessantly shat on the X-men for petty reasons and made Cyke out to be Mutant Hitler when he's in the right about the inhumans bullshit.

Its not really petty, Disney owns Marvel now but doesn't own the film rights for X-Men, Fox does, so they're phasing them out via the comics to be replaced by inhumans and avengers teams. They don't wanna lose any pennies to Fox. Which I guess is petty in a way, Disney is rich enough already.
Chupacabra555: Well, to me, Cyclops was an interesting character up until one pivotal moment: When they had him just up and leave his Wife and CHILD to start a team with his returned-from-the-dead lover, Jean Grey, back in the days of the original X-Factor comic.
Before then he was a likeable enough character, but this bad writing turned people off to the character, and he has suffered ever since.

It's obvious considering Jean or Ororo make much better leaders for the X men. But again puritans like to suck up to the original source material even if the source material sucks.
