RogerTheRabbit: wait a minute, it says you posted that three hours ago...your link is of three words, yesterday was 31th of the 3rd, you've uploaded all of thirty THREE images on your account...that means....
YOU CANT FOOL ME! HALF-LIFE 3 CONFIRMED!.............333333333333333333333,,,,,,,
Anonymous8: I don't think Half-Life 3 could live up to the hype no matter how good they tried to make it.
DOOM 2016 worked because it followed the simple formula of the originals. Half-Life formula wouldn't fair well in today's gaming climate.
ConsciousDonkey: @Anonymous: That info originated from a SUPPOSED Valve employee, so it's not official. But personally, I doubt HL3 will be ever made. Because Valve is not a producer who earns money by selling games anymore. It has morphed into a "entertainment corporation" who "generates revenue" by pushing their Big Brother malware - Steam.
Farfegnugen: I don't even see the point of April's Fools on the internet. The ones that get a kick out the day is blogs since it's the only day of the year they get to act more retarded than normal.
Anonymous12: HL got fucked over by a superficially "deep", overwrought, fanboy-fellating sequel just like Portal. Logic dictates a second sequel would be even worse so it's just as well Valve can't count to three. That Freeman thing with the web series douchebags voicing it is by definition on par with what HL3 would've become anyway.
...All of which ignores that Valve is just a series of algorithms and bots producing endless revenue streams based on market analysis and research now, anyway.
meow-meow: can anyone tell me why anyone would give a shit about half-life?
@Anonymous12
you mean that its overrated? then what is it? generic shooter that offered nothing new, yet everyone thinks its some holy grail of gaming, just because people (USAians) got it shoved down their throat.
@Anonymous14
Portal got fucked over by the sequel? did you actually play the first game? its on par with maybe the test games made in college for programming class. its only selling point was "these portals look better than the portals in the similar puzzle games before". story was generic, evil AI villain was generic and laughable, gameplay only got decent in the sequel where it got more varied
@ConsciousDonkey
good thing there are cracks for every "Steam Only®" game. they even made their own console and OS, as if anyone would use that shit
DragonShade44: @meow-meow: This might be hard to imagine now, but Half-Life was pretty technologically relevant at its time of creation, and it was a damn great game.
can you elaborate?
the first half-life apparently came out in 1998.
compare it to other games of that time. for example, system shock 2 came out in 1999. compare the two in literally any way.
@StevenWolfe
"Seinfeld effect."
looked it up. it apparently means whatever gets popular gets criticized more. which is not why i dislike half-life.
can you name any reason why it doesnt fit what i claimed it was?
my comparison to college programming tests of the time was accurate, and you seem to be blindfolded to everything which isnt shoveled down your throat, i dont know what kind of effect that would be called.
