Anonymous3: I preferred New Vegas, I enjoyed tracking and killing Chandler. (If you didn't know, the dude your hunting down in New Vegas is voiced by Matthew Perry).
Anonymous4: Shaun was the worst part about FO4. People that weren't parents IRL felt zero connection to the story and just did whatever with no motivation for the main quest line. People that were parents IRL did nothing but main quest missions Liam Neeson Taken-style until they could find him and weren't able to enjoy the game's side missions and exploring at a relaxed pace. Bethesda tried too fucking hard with the story and it backfired.
Anonymous7: @Anonymous: While your point seems valid, I personally did not have this problem. Even though I have no kids IRL, I strongly empathized for my character's problems and relentlessly pursued Shaun's kidnappers, but still gave myself time to have fun, run around the Prydwen, shoot Radscorpions and fortify the Red Rocket Truck Stop.
I guess it wasn't the ideal storyline for a Bethesda game, but the character's motivations are at least very clear, and very personal.
Anonymous8: New Vegas was the ultimate "do what you want"-style RPG. Fallout 4 is the ultimate "Ehhh, don't bother, modders will put it in the game for us"-style RPG.
