Anonymous1: @Thrakerzod: I don't think Color Theory died.
It's just that people think edgy means cool nowadays, regardless of context. Black and red work well on Shadow from the Sonic the Hedgehog Universe, but on pastel ponies of MLP?
Roflcakes: I'm with Thraker on this. You can really tell how clueless some of these shitbirds are when they forsake the fundamentals of character design and basic colour theory to make OC ponies that look like this.
Roflcakes: @Faptacular: The worst part is that the strength of pony designs is their simplicity and the use of subtle design features (like unique body and eye shapes). The more you venture into the realm of obnoxious colour schemes the less like an actual show pony the OC starts to look, lmao.
Thrakerzod: @Anonymous: Actually Shadow's design has quite a bit of balancing in it. You ever notice that white patch of fur on his chest and the gold placed on his legs and arms? That actually works to balance things out.

Not so much.

Little realizing one of the fundamental psychology traits is that the more obnoxious something is the more you tend to tune it out.
