Rule 34 is one of the only rules that has actually outlived the set of “rules of the internet” that it came from, and it’s taken on it’s own life as a mix of meme and self-fulfilling prophecy, where people will drawn porn of obscure, un-notable, or just plain ugly things, purely for the sake of a shitpost. And what could be bigger shitpost, than taking one of the few “ugly” love interest characters im media that was actually made to be unnattractive, from a movie that no one cares about, and making well drawn porn that makes her look fuckin hot? It’s the natural escalation of Porn-meme warfare, that will eventually culminate in Mutually Assured Boners.
