bAv-R34: I've always wondered how these are even considered gags when it's just a handkerchief covering their mouth.

Because you know, you can still use your lips, tongue and vocal cords to make coherent speech.

Roflcakes: @bAv-R34: They're supposed to be stuffed into their mouths rather than just covering them. I guess it holds the mouth open and restricts movement of the tongue that way.

Luckily that is not the case.

I like Gilda's colors here black and white fur. Is that supposed to be because of lighting or just because why the hell not?

bAv-R34: @Roflcakes: I know about that method of gagging, but I'm talking about this method that I always saw in them old-ass Hanna-Barbara cartoons like Scooby Doo or Flintstones. Just tie a small piece of cloth around the lower half of somebody's head and they'd be unable to talk. It fucking baffled me as a kid.

Thumper: there's supposed to be a wadding of leather, cloth or other similar material stuffed into the mouth, with the rag tied around the head to retain it in the mouth. s'why they call them gags, I guess. the wadding would at times stimulate the gag reflex..

Flashlight237: @bAv-R34: That's what I've always thought about these cloth gags. Speaking of old cartoons, what stinks is that Boomerang doesn't show much of the old cartoons these days. Just these 90s toons and other modern-yet-cancelled shows, some from Hanna Barbera. I do not know who had the bright idea of putting Porkyman and Grojband on Boomerang, I mean one of those shows are still around while the other was pretty much a seed at the time it was placed on Boomerang (and I doubt anyone would want a Canadian show about a boy trying to get a diary from some girl with Dragon Ball-esque powers on Boomerang).
