horribleartist: Actually at the rate robotics is advancing I'm guessing just 10-15 years. Maybe not as intelligent as EDI, but certainly as... physically functional.
Comixfan: @nottanj: Don't get how the previous one was "shitty." It was fucking exceptional. And judging by all the upvotes it got others agreed. Honestly, other than the lighting tweak, this one is a step down. How is covering EDI with spunk make it "less shitty"?
Comixfan: @horribleartist: Actually, Japan and the Swiss have the tech now. The 'frames' pretty do everything and have proper movement. Only downside is the faux skin and faces look...disconcerting, and the price tags on the *good* sex bots are ridiculous. Regardless, given the state of the tech, might not even be ten years. Perhaps less. Now the A.I. aspect is another matter.
The guy running Realdoll sais he's looking into cyborg stuff. Recent years there's popped up several manufacturers like Realdoll over the world, and now adays the skin looks VERY realistic and the skeleton/joins are getting more light weight. I would say tops 5 years before the first electronic sexdoll with movement.
