Decanter: While I don't have strong opinions on humanized ponies, I have to speak up against the bad rap vanilla gets. Vanilla is a perfectly delicious flavor in its own right - if it weren't we certainly wouldn't flavor so many things with it, as it's one of the most expensive flavorings in the world, second only to saffron.
Besides, the use of "vanilla" to mean "boring and standard" didn't come from the food flavoring. It came from a Latin word that means (literally) "little sheath", so basically when you talk about vanilla sex you're being a bit more literal than you realize.
