But the mention of him being half-angel made it clear they were either going to retcon who Eva was, or make it a reboot, both of which I strenuously disagreed with.

Also, Tameem's insults towards an anxious fanbase certainly didn't help. Sure, most fandoms have assholes, but the community was still concerned, and instead of reassuring them, he antagonized them. That alienated the existing fans, and the punk underground appeal certainly didn't do much to draw in the mainstream. Is it any wonder that Capcom had to adjust their sales expectations twice now? In my opinion, it's just desserts, and if our choice is between the reboot or no more DMC, I'd rather let it die (for now, at least) than continue to exist in this form, which I feel is quite a travesty.
I did indeed watch the whole game, and would have been quite angry at wasting money on it. I also watched DMC4 since I can't play it yet, and found it to be even better than I thought. I definitely look forward to playing it. Comparing the two, most of the combat mechanics that were in the reboot were in DMC4 and done much better.
Personally, I'm starting to think that either the Capcom execs are entirely out of touch with the fans and too damn greedy, or have simply lost their fucking minds. Whatever the case, if they fuck up handling the Darkstalkers franchise, then I will wash my hands of them. This is the worst reboot since Bomberman: Act Zero, and it's gonna take a lot for me to forgive Capcom for it.
Until this point, I've continued to lurk, but this was the straw that broke the camel's back, so forgive me for this rant. Letting it out does feel cathartic, though, even if it's just a porn site. Oh, and one last thing: the original Dante was more or less cool personified, Donte is fucking lame. I'm straight, but I have heard plenty of women say they thought Dante was hot, but not Donte.
