Lilitu: Paheal does not support HD pics, it blocks all uploads over 2.5MB which means any picture at high res that does not use lossy compression (JPG) that adds distortions to images (artifacts, wikipedia jpg artifacts) will not be allowed. So I've had to upload the HD pic to: http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/4946/asari3.png
Anonymous1: considering that a jpg with a resolution of 2500x2500 with RGB and little montone areas can be under 2mb easy without much loss (rating of 10 out of 12 according to photoshop)while artifact rating is 8 and below, your point is moot
Lilitu: you can get 2TB disks for £70 on scan.co.uk though (if you go to xe.com that converts to whatever currency you use, it's not too much considering you "a few" you would only need 3 to get 6TB)
mahoraz: quick estimate says the site has 600k+ pictures that with a rough calculation would be over 2,5Tb. Considering theres always 1000 to 2500 users visiting at the same time at all times the traffic going in and out of the site is already massive (consider the loading times) and if the picutre sizes were any bigger..... you can immagine how much slower it would be
Get with the 2010's paheal!
