Guk: Actually a8, pronouns in prepositional phrases are always in the objective case (I is a subjective pronoun, me is objective). Since between is a preposition and the rest of the sentence is part of it's prepositional phrase, you would use me, instead of I. So no, It would not be "between you and I", the fear was correct.
