Thanks to everyone who comments, I appreciate any and all feedback. I think I'm finally getting Astrid fairly on-model, I used Polands visual suggestion of the freckles as they seem to suit Astrid and serve to make here as young as she seems/should be.
I might try to colour this but I have an idea for a Ruffnut picture so I have/want to practice drawing her first. Besides I have another painting in the works (Hiccup x Astrid) but it is not so on-model as the Astrid in this picture.
cancer69: Yeah it is different - I couldn't stand the lack of a right hand, it threw out the whole picture for me. Just the hint of a few fingers properly places the arm spatially.
ps anon from the other thread, did you like the girly hearts-as-o's in Astrids speach, I thought it was a nice little touch
cancer69: Anon6 you have to be cruel to be kind. I know what you mean about the chest - it was difficult to get it right. I wanted the perky breasts of the young (higher nipple placement) with her leaning forward (more underboob shadow) without making the breasts too pendulous (ie more adult). It was difficult and a comprimise had to be made and I did the best I could.
Same with her head leaning forward - it makes her look like she has no neck. Again I did the best I could.
What do you mean about the deformities? Please respond - I want to do better work in the future.
