Anonymous2(1): There are a lot of free programs that offer fairly simple interfaces. You can also find programs to vectorize your paint files - eliminating the jaggy bitmap lines.
anomalous: With a little lurking you can download an older version of photoshop and find a crack for it. GIMP is a freeware, though I've never used it personally. Painter - don't know if that's free though. Google that shit.

Paint.net works just like MS Paint, so I might use it. We'll see about throwing a human into the mix
