It helps make the figure seem real when dressed.
Which explains why so many comic book characters (especially women) do not look like they could be real.
Under Perez's steady hand, Kory was one woman whose attributes were never drawn in an impossible fashion.
And that is what made her a favorite of mine.
traffik: It doesn't surprise me in the least that professional comic book artists draw stuff like this. It does, however, surprise me a little bit that they sign it.
Anonymous4: George did this at a con in TX in the early 80's DC discouraged him and others from doing this sort of thing unfortunately, and those pros who do it have to be a bit more discreet, sometimes. Cockrum did a TON of it!

Anonymous8: @Anon7: Probably same reason Frazetta drew Tarzan captured by Queen La, still in the loincloth while La is nude. Artistic convention held women weren't sexual and gay men didn't exist.
Personally I'd be happy with a storyline where Raven helps Dick and Kory through their first sexual experience together in light of Kory's PTSD, but even that was too much in the 80s. Ironically, the modern fan image of Dick sleeping with every woman he meets would be fine in the 80s (albeit without the CCA stamp), provided he could just walk his own trauma from Mirage off.
