Anonymous3: Kryptonian physiologies react differently to different solar radiation. Stars in different stages of their life give off different types of radiation. The Kryptonian sun was red, and Kryptonians were like normal humans under it's light. Under a younger, yellow star, they absorb the energy and gain super powers. They're immune to pretty much every kind of radiation, though. A nuclear bomb's fallout wouldn't bother a Kryptonian.
On the other hand, Kryptonians are solar batteries, so who knows how they react to sunlight.
