Before this, She was a Gifted Scientist/Inventor, in a relationship, with Inspector Gadget, a special operative using technological gadgets, to great advantage. In an attempt to kidnap Penny, Gadget, who by this time, was romantically involved with the young genius, was seriously injured, and, was on the verge of death, when Penny, with no other option, infected him with a n untested Techno-Virus, which healed him, incorporating his exoskeleton and it's gadgets into his biological matrix! However, in the imprinting on his consciousness, which may have suffered so damage, organically, leaving him prone to rash, impulsive, even foolish judgement, and, some errors in using his gadgets. Not wishing to reveal herself, Penny allowed the world to believe she'd gone into hiding, and now loses as Gadget's Niece! With her younger body, she's been able to fool everyone, including Dr. Claw, and, Chief Quimby, and, the world at large, and, she doesn't tell anyone, for fear on endangering them, or, alerting Dr. Claw!
