shetni64: It's a furfag thing. You put a tail at the end of a string of anal beads so when the beads are inserted, it almost looks like you have a tail. (It doesn't line up perfectly with your coccyx, though.)
An_Onymous: True dat. You can also put a tail on a buttplug. Neither looks that much like an actual tail, nor are they really supposed to. They're more analogous to those ears humanoid Midna is wearing; their main purpose is to look cute. Which, I admit, I think they often accomplish.
