And there was a Black Jack\Astroboy crossover. An official one- Tezuka enjoyed crossing over with his works. From my understanding as a helpless Tezuka nerd, it's his second or third most famous work. There's still anime being made of it, and the remake manga series, Black Jack Neo.
Also, Black Jack would not stand for this shit. Black Jack extracted parasites from his body while being chased by wolves. Black Jack is hardcore.

By that I mean, everyone knows what Astro boy is, but more people have actually read Black Jack and thus really "know" it.
Anonymous3(1): Yeah. I think it's arguable that Jungle Emperor Leo (Kimba the White Lion) is more famous to Americans, as a lot of Americans grew up watching the dubbed version on TV. But I personally grew up with Black Jack.
