Anonymous1: Hm. Even though the boobs look like they're meant to be large here, it just comes off kinda...flat.

Urbane_Guerrilla: Yep, not a lot of the third dimension here. A little bit of shadow would fix that.

Urbane_Guerrilla: There's shading but it's almost entirely in the service of the outlines. Figure the light source, put somewhat darker shading in accordingly and opposite. Doesn't have to be any too dark. Large and weighty boobage would also cover some of that horizontal strap, and all the better if one breast were to hang a trifle lower than the other, either from the posture of her stance, or from the slightly asymmetrical development you can find in the nature of boobage. Some Frenchman once remarked, "There is no true beauty that did not have some strangeness of proportion."

Urbane_Guerrilla: Have you ever seen green coconuts still on the tree? They have a curiously breastlike weight, pendulousness, a pregnant reproductiveness. And that's just how they look. Find that quality in your boob-drawing, not defiance of gravity and a photo-finish in a Zeppelin race. Half grapefruits capped with nipples are all very well in a manga way -- clean curvatures neatly drawn -- but they're not laden with any more realism than "manga muzzle" profile shots.
