An_Onymous: It can vary based on the person, but I (male) have a fairly thick, continuous trail of hair from my balls all the way along my taint and into my asscrack. Some other guys have relatively little.
SinEater: If there's anything hard for guys to shave, it's gotta be the balls... You have to get a good grip and move your testicles around to use them as a base cuz the scrotum is so saggy that if you just run a razor on it you might end up cutting more skin than hair...

It might be worth using scissors if you've got the time. It's not MUCH longer, unless your balls are like, furry, and it's more relaxing/safer.
An_Onymous: I've never tried shaving my genital region (largely because I've never really had any motive to do so), but it does seem to me like doing a decent job on the ol' coconuts would be a world-class bitch. What really discourages me, though, is the thought of how incredibly scratchy and irritating the stubble would probably be as it started to grow back.

Gan_Ainm: With regards to ball-shaving (being a guy, I can't help the ladies with their own hirsute dilemma,) stretch out your scrotum and shave it with a cheap, one-bladed safety razor. You know, the disposable ones. Since you're stretching it, the skin is trying to contract away from the blade, so you can only cut yourself if you're really trying.
Anonymous13: Normal people don't go out of their way to make their crotch bleed for something that most people aren't gonna see. I don't typically trim up down there but when i do i use a pair of scissors.
